Various investigations of emvau-schlacke as a construction material show very favourable results for the solids, leachates and dioxin levels present in it.

Since 1994 the University of Hamburg Soil Science Institute and now the Rostock-based laboratory Heiden Labor have been producing bottom ash reports (studies) based on extensive individual analyses. These long-term results series provide continuous evidence of the quality of emvau-schlacke.

Findings: The solids concentrations and leachate concentrations in emvau-schlacke are (in some cases substantially) below the guide values in the relevant guidelines (e.g. LAGA 20 TR waste incineration ash, etc.). The dioxin levels are below the guide values for agricultural soil or playground sand.
