PLACEMENT CONDITIONS
Placement of emvau-ash constitutes proper and harmless reuse within the meaning of Section 5 paragraph 1 no. 3 of the Federal Immission Control Act and Section 5 paragraph 3 of the Closed Product cycle and Waste Management Act.
The specific placement conditions are laid down by the competent Land authorities, especially for public highway construction.
Placement conditions for the reuse of waste incineration ash
| Covered top layer with asphalt, concrete or pavement (pavement with salt-reduced ash is not permitted in Schleswig-Holstein) | ||
| The distance between the base of the fill material and the highest expected groundwater level must be at least 1 m | ||
| No placement in designated or planned drinking water conservation areas and water priority areas 1) | ||
| No placement in areas subject to frequent flooding, in hydrogeologically unfavourable locations, on areas involving sensitive uses (e.g. children’s playgrounds, sports facilities, drainage layers etc.) | ||
| In cases of direct contact with fittings susceptible to corrosion, a minimum distance of 50 cm must be maintained |
1) HSK has plans of water conservation areas and a list of streets that are situated within a water conservation area and are therefore subject to special construction conditions. In these areas, placement of the recycled materials commonly found on the market (RC, BMG, ZMG, emvau-ash, emvau-mix) is not permitted.
